My grandmother was a quilt maker and as she aged, I wanted a quilt that she made as a remembrance of her. Instead of taking one that she had pieced, I decided to make a tshirt quilt with her help. This was before I knew anyone else had made such a quilt. I pulled out tshirts from my childhood and tshirts from my kids sporting events and from family vacations. Grandma and I made the quilt (without a pattern) in one day, taking breaks for lunch and dinner. It turned out to be gigantic and beautiful! It is one of my most prized possessions and one of my favorite memories of my Grandmother.

For those who do not have a quilting Grandma, your service is a great way to preserve memories!

Steph - I am so impressed with your work. You truly have a gift and the way you are able to share it is a blessing. I'm struggling with what to write in this comment because I'm battling tears and trying to find the right words. Thank you for doing what you do and for being who you are. Love, M

Alison, this story really touched me and brought tears to my eyes. I am also a quilter but have not been able to bring myself to start quilting again since I lost my husband last year (Feb of 2009). Everyone tries to get me to start sewing again and for some reason I just can't bring myself to do it

Gay,

I do not use patterns on my quilts. Each quilt has a different number of blocks, plus different requests from my clients and other deciding factors. Once I gather all the information for the quilt I design it based on the specifications. Each quilt is unique.

Thanks for stopping by!

Dearest Stephanie,

I can't begin to tell you what this beautiful quilt means to me. It has been a hard year without my Tom, and I tried to gradually go through his things and try and decide what to keep. He was a "keeper" he never threw away anything so as I went through his clothing I discovered he had more than 40 tee shirts. I didn't have trouble donating his suits, jeans and dress shirts because those things didn't represent who Tom was to me, but I couldn't give away his tee shirts, some of them he had when we met 21 years ago. I knew I needed to do something with them but I just couldn't let them go.

So when I was on Facebook one night and saw your ad, it was as if God said here is the answer. I contacted you right away. When we met I was surprised to see this beautiful young lady, guess I thought it was just us older ladies that quilted. You put me at ease immediately, and as we talked about Tom, and then the quilt, I left knowing not only that I had met a very sweet and understanding young woman, but I also knew that Tom's quilt would be as special as he was.

When I saw the quilt I was so moved, I had trouble speaking. It was a perfect blend of me and Tom. The blue you chose was almost exactly the color of his eyes, and has always been my favorite color. The quilt was like you had taken parts of My Tom and encircled them with parts of me.

Thanks you Stephanie from the bottom of my heart. I haven't slept well since Tom's death but last night I slept all night wrapped in love.
This truly is a healing quilt,
God Bless and Keep You,
Alison

My son passed away a year ago. He had lots of t-shirts from his travels. I would like to put them together into a quilt I can keep. Did you have a pattern for yours?

Love the logo! Just know you wanted to make the orange true gator orange, but the one you used works better with the design and keeps the emphasis on "quilts" where it belongs. Very clever! It's great that you are local as well. Now I just have to save up enough money to get a quilt and pick out which tees to use. Should I go with my airbrushed ones or my designs for myselff and others? 'Tis a puzzlement! Picking out which designs and colors to use will be fun and is likely to take me long enough that I may even have the money first. LOL I iknow you will be successful. The quilts are beautiful and your enthusiasm contagious. I'm proud to be able to tell others about you as there is always someone who asks about tee quilts whenever I happen to show one of my shirts for sale and even when I wear one sometimes. Peace -----jemyl41
